Melbourne Day 3: Ocean Road I

2 Jun 2014

We walked to Avis Car Rental Office (South Yarra) from the hotel to get our car which will accompany us for the next few days. We have got a Ford which is good and offers a roomy boot at the back to put our luggage for 5 persons. We headed to the Ocean Road as early as possible before the weather turned bad after noon time.

Ocean road was one of the highlights of the entire journey. Unfortunately the weather did not seem to be promising. The morning was not too bad, but it rained after that. We stopped a while at Geelong, discovered the sculptured bollards dotted along the foreshore chronicle characters from the city's past and present. The restaurant at the pier provides casual and cozy atmosphere with the colorful furniture.

As we walked around, we noticed the beautiful underwater plants near the jetty. It was an inconspicuous spot but we couldn't resist to stop and take a few shots.

This was the first fish and chips we had in the journey. I could not recall what we have ordered but the first one was really good, better than the grilled fish though it was healthier and less oily.

Aireys Inlet

We stayed a night at Sandpiper Motel in a family room with two bedrooms, one open kitchen, one living hall, and a small patio. It costed AUD200 and it was my favorite accommodation in the entire trip. The size was just night for five of us and it was new and clean.
