How much can you earn in New Zealand

It required me big courage to share this private earning information publicly. Please note that this is just a rough idea about the gross income you can earn per month. It may vary depending on the hourly rate and also the number of hours you work.

New Zealand enforces the minimum labor pay at NZD 13 per hour + 8% of holiday pay. Packhouses such as Satara, Trevelyan's, R.J's Hort and Talley's do not normally pay more than NZD13.50 per hour unless you are working night shift.  The average hourly rate that I got was NZD13.

Please take August in my last work as example as I worked for the whole month. Talley's gave around NZD13 per hour + 8% holiday pay. The work hours during weekdays and Saturday were 9 and 7 respectively. We had an optional choice to clean the packhouse after work which means I worked 10 hours a day except for Saturday. Unlike other packhouses, Talleys gave additional 5.85 meal allowance for working more than 10 hours a day and additional 50% hourly rate on the extra hours if we worked more than 40 hours per week. So, we could earn at least NZD700 per week (NZD3116/4). But this is the most optimum case.

On average, one can earn at least NZD400 if you work for 40 hours in any packhouse.

hi, thank you for reading my blog. there supposed to be quite a lot of outdoor work opportunities during this period but somehow i also found it difficult to get a work at this time. at least it did happen to me last year, probably due to less than 3 mths visa validity and i only looked for packhouses. where is your location now? it is best that you try to secure a job now otherwise you may probably need to wait till jan after their long xmas and new yr shutdown

I worked in westporr. No transport required if you stay nearby. Like any other jobs you got to walk in to apply
