We have 26 alphabets, but they can eventually be combined in different ways to form different languages.
August = Agost = Agosto = Aout. All of them are referring to the month of August, but they can be spelled and pronounced differently.
So when you are travelling to a country which the language is unfamiliar to you, you would have to do some body language in order to deliver your message.
Fortunately, the numbering is standardized. At least when you are purchasing, you know $100 means $100, but not others. Of course you would have to consider the currency exchange, $100 may end up equating to only RM30.
Have you ever imagine how the days would be if we have different numbering for each country too?
I couldnt imagine the consequences. If you were in USA, and their numbering sequence is the opposite 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1, $100 would be greater than $900 in this case. and then you will have to convert $900 instead of $100 back to your own currency.
